The Dwyer SAH-22 with its revolutionary Quad Flow design is the most ergonomically, accurate and easy to operate air flow hood on the market.  Dwyer has redesigned the airflow hood to get the most accurate airflow measurements achievable by minimizing back pressure and controlling the flow of air. The Smart Air Hood Balometer along with their PredictAir application software allows air balancing technicians to quickly and efficiently get the job done in half the time.

The SAH-22 is the smallest, lightest, most aerodynamic designed smart air capture hood.  The hood is made out of durable, lightweight, polypropylene material and measures 2’ x 2’ by 12” tall and weighs only 6 pounds.  The technician can easily maneuver the hood to capture the air flow from a variety of diffusers or grilles, lock the hood into place with the pivoting pole and use the handheld test instrument to easily get the readings necessary.

The Dwyer SAH-22 uses WI-Fi direct communication to communicate between the hood and handheld test instrument up to a distance of 200 yards.  The handheld test instrument may be used on or off the included pole.  Detaching the instrument is quick and easy with its quick release system, allowing the user to easily switch between viewing it on the pole or viewing it in-hand. The Smart Air Hood handheld instrument includes the PredictAir Application Software with its user friendly program guiding the technician in the balancing process.

The software uses the Predictive Balancing as a method of projecting the optimal flow set point for each diffuser and the order the registers are to be adjusted.  After the initial readings for each diffuser in the room, the PredictAir software uses an algorithm to predict the most efficient way to balance the system.  The technician is then prompted on the changes necessary to complete the air flow balance.  Once adjustments are made the program has follow up prompts to verify readings are matching the system's predictions.

The Dwyer SAH Smart Air Hood Balometer is also equipped with temperature and humidity sensors that are used to detect differences in air density in order to improve the overall airflow measurements.  These sensors display readings in the PredictAir app, but they are not accurate enough to be used for reporting purposes. It is recommended to use standalone units such as the Dwyer RP2 with its mobile gateway, the UHH-BTG. 

This innovative program for balancing the system saves the technician time, money, and effort while providing more accuracy for the ventilating system in commercial buildings.

The report can be exported via email or saved to a file and imported into a tab reporting tool later.

Additional hood sizes are available. An extendable pole A-SAH-12P (adjustable from 4.5’ – 12’) is available for greater versatility.

The sensing pitot arrays and pressure sensors are easily detached so that they can be sent in yearly for calibration.
